A Festival of Art, Music & Theatre in the beautiful Shropshire town of Much Wenlock
The Much Wenlock Festival takes place every two years in this beautiful and historic Shropshire market town.
The 2008 Festival will open on Saturday 31 May and will run until Sunday 22 June.
Many visitors to Much Wenlock are amazed by its charm and natural beauty and we do feel privileged to be able to use the historic sites in this lovely market town as venues for our events.
For three weeks in June the town of Much Wenlock will be celebrating the best of local talent alongside stars with national and international acclaim.
The Festival Play, William Shakespeare's Richard III, will be performed by The Shropshire Drama Company during the second week of the Festival with the Opening Night on Monday 9 June. The Play will once again be performed on the ancient Church Green, with the Parish Church providing a marvellous backdrop to complete the setting.
In addition we have a tremendous line-up of events catering for all tastes, including talks, films, music, an art exhibition and family fun days at venues all around the town.
Full details of all our events can be found here.
