We are delighted that the soprano Elisabeth Wingfield is able to perform for us at this year’s Festival. She grew up just outside Shrewsbury and still has family connections in Shropshire.
Trained in Italy at the Conservatorio Pietro Mascagni in Livorno, and in Rome with Letizia Calzolari, she is currently studying with Paul Farrington.
Her list of Oratorio and Concert performances is impressive, both in this country and in Europe. She loves singing Verdi and made her operatic debut as Oscar in Un Ballo in Maschera.
Her love of languages – she speaks German and fluent Italian – combined with a vibrant personality, a passion for communicating truthfully and a keen sense of humour, make her an exciting recitalist.
When she is not singing she enjoys writing children’s stories about her alter ego, the Duchesse of Grubbadubs, and is also an enthusiastic cook and cyclist.
