Event Details
An exhibition of the tile makers’ craft associated with the area from the thirteenth century through to its zenith at the end of the nineteenth century.
The Maws tile factory at Jackfield near Ironbridge was highly influential in design terms and the largest manufacturer in the world with the owners, George & Arthur Maw using their home at Benthall Hall as a showroom for their work.
Tiles are still produced in the area today and Mr David Franklin of Victorian Ceramics will display both his products and manufacturing techniques. In addition, there will be a display of original tiles and artefacts belonging to the Maws family.
